Hidden away in meadowland at the end of a Cornish lane and looking out to sea this is a truly unique and peaceful property. Character, charm and quality abound, exposed granite, wooden floors, vaulted skylight ceilings and even an authentic smugglers tunnel under a glass panel in the floor. Triple aspect windows and doors, with glorious panoramic views to the ocean and a different view of the sea from every room.
Enter by a stable door into the fabulously well equipped kitchen: handcrafted units with granite tops, butler sink, dishwasher, washer dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee machine. At the far end, beyond the dining table, in the middle of the slate floor is a viewing panel for the smugglers hide.
The open plan lounge is an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary style with an emphasis on making your stay as comfortable as possible. French doors lead to the sunny and secure garden with a play frame and patio with dining table and chairs. A wood burning stove, lcd tv/dvd, freeview, wi fi, Ipod dock and sea views to three sides. Slate flooring, cast iron radiators and furnishings in muted seaside tones create a lovely relaxing feel.
Upstairs the en suite master bedroom is simply delightful and exudes romance, a king size bed, designer fabrics and three separate sets of French doors, one leading on to a granite deck area with seating and the others to Romeo and Juliet balconies, each with an individual sea view. Awaken to sweeping views across St Ives bay and the Godrevy lighthouse.
A second bedroom with two single beds and a third pull out truckle is just as impressive, wooden shutters, vaulted skylights and sumptuous soft furnishings. A desk, blackout blinds and plenty of storage ensure that this room is both gorgeous and practical.
The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, natural stone tiles and flooring.
Surrounded by acres of meadowland with the ocean as a backdrop and sea views from every window this rural haven is ideal for every season. A west facing patio area with sunset views, perfect for al fresco dining, a barbecue or enjoying a glass of something chilled, a wood burner for winter evenings by the fire. The private gated community of a dozen cottages lies in seclusion at the end of a meandering lane just a mile to the west of St Ives, a select four of the properties have been individually chosen by Only. (the majority of the cottages are second family homes occupied for just a few weeks a year) Surrounded by acres of meadowland with the sea to three sides you may want to do nothing more than simply soak up the view, take the footpath from your door and a twenty minute coastal walk will take you to the beaches, restaurants and bars.
Steeped in history, this very special place has seen a lot of life, home to the mining community followed by dairy farmers and most recently left derelict in disrepair, now fastidiously renovated and restored to its former glory our retreats don't come any more authentic than this. With a character and charm that changes through the seasons, lush green fields in summer, where children can safely play, bracing headland walks as the evenings start to draw in, breathtaking displays of shooting stars high above in the winter sky, Trowan is an Only of which we are immensely proud.

Terms & Conditions
This Hire Agreement shall be between the Hirer and the Property Owner.
For bookings made within 2 months of your holiday start date, please pay the full amount plus damage deposit. For a booking made more than 2 months before your holiday start date, a deposit of 30% of the rental cost is required. The balance plus the deposit is then due 2 months prior to the holiday start date. Failure to make payment by the due date may result in your booking being cancelled and the loss of your deposit.
Upon payment of the deposit and subject to acceptance of the booking, the Hirer becomes liable for the balance of the rent 2 months before the holiday start date.
Linen and towels
The property is equipped with bed linen including sheets, duvets, duvet covers and pillow cases. We also provide towels and tea towels, with the exception of some short breaks when guests may be asked to provide their own towels. We do not provide any cot bedding or linen.
The rental cost is inclusive of all reasonable use of electricity and gas. Selected properties have a private water supply.
The property may not be occupied by persons other than those named on the booking form. The hirer shall not part with possession of the property or share it except with members of the party named on the booking form.
The Hirer and guests should make themselves aware of safety instructions at the property, locations of emergency equipment and read the instructions for use for fire extinguishers/fire blankets. For reasons of safety guests should carefully read the method of use and safety instructions for wood burning stoves prior to lighting.
This Contract is made on the understanding that the property will be available for the dates stated. In the unlikely event that the property is not available through events arising out of the control of the Property Owner, the Property Owner may be forced to cancel the booking. The Hirer will be advised of such circumstances as early as possible and the Property Owner will refund all monies paid in full but the Hirer will have no further claims against Only or the Property Owner.
In the event of a cancellation being received in writing the Property Owner will endeavour to re-let the property and, if successful, will refund any monies already paid less the initial 30% deposit.
If the property is not re-let for any reason, the original Hirer is liable for the whole of the rental amount.
It is recommend that the Hirer takes out insurance to cover the cost of events such as losses, damage to personal belongings and cancellation.
Baggage and personal belongings are at the Hirer's risk and no responsibility can be accepted for loss of or damage to such items.
The Hirer and other members of the party must not cause an annoyance or become a nuisance to occupants of the neighbouring properties. Under these circumstances we reserve the right to terminate the agreement and ask The Hirer and all guests to leave. No compensation shall apply for the interruption of the holiday.
Damage Deposit £200.00
All bookings are accepted on the condition that the property is handed back in clean and tidy condition. Any unreasonable, unexpected or additional cleaning required will be charged for. All breakages or any damage must be paid for in full by the Hirer. The deposit amount is payable with the balance. The damage deposit less the cost of any damages will be returned to you within 7 days of your departure or we will notify you of any underpayment to be met.
Tenancies commence after 4pm on the start date of your holiday and terminate at 10am on the finish date of your holiday. Under no circumstances may the Hirer enter the property or use the parking spaces before 4pm on the commencement date and the property and parking spaces must be vacated by 10am on the termination date unless prior agreement is made. Late departure is charged at £15 per quarter hour if housekeeping are unable to access the property promptly on departure day.
The Property Owner or their representatives shall be allowed access to the property at any reasonable time during the holiday occupancy. In case of emergency immediate access must be permitted.

All properties are strictly non smoking throughout.

Noise: A level of noise is to be expected at centrally located properties, St Ives is a bustling town and has a thriving gull population. Terraced properties may also experience some degree of noise. For advice regarding an individual properties suitability for your party please contact us.
Flora and fauna: Insects and pests are commonplace and their occasional presence is not indicative of poor levels of housekeeping.
Third party suppliers.
Only are unable to fully guarantee the availability of any of the optional services supplied by a third party during your stay. Contracts for Holisitc Therapies are directly between the guest and the therapist.
Please notify us of any problems as soon as they arise. Only will then endeavour to resolve the situation effectively. The Owner will remain solely for liable.
If there is a breach of any of these conditions by the Hirer or any of their party, we reserve the right to re-enter the property, terminate the booking and ask the Hirer and their party to leave.
